workout tips for women–: Does puberty mess up your metabolism and at what age are you supposed to lose your baby fat?
I’m 13 years old, 5’1” and I’ve been trying to lose 15 pounds for over a month now. I have a healthy BMI, but I’m over the 50th percentile, and weigh a lot more than all of my friends that are alot taller than me. I eat less than 1500 calories a day, work out for at least 100 minutes every day, including aerobics, jogging, and pilates, and I almost never eat desserts, soda, and other sugary foods. I drink 8 glasses of water everyday, eat breakfast, workout in the morning before breakfast, and at night after dinner, and do all these other diet tips that supposedly help you lose weight, but nothing seems to work. I know women gain alot of fat when they go through puberty, but is that really the reason I haven’t lost weight at all? Plus, I have so much fat in my thighs, arms, and stomach that won’t go away, even though I’ve started developing muscle. Is puberty the reason I won’t get any skinnier, is it really baby fat that’s clinging to me, and will I ever get skinny again?

You don’t eat enough!
You’re not fat.. You’re supposed to gain weight in puberty so that you can become a woman. You won’t get a period if you’re too thin or if your BMI is below a certain number.
Just continue to eat healthy, exercise, and if you still gain weight it’s okay. YOU ARE NOT YOUR WEIGHT. You’ll get leaner over the years as your body grows into its proper proportions.. just relax.

Umm..my daughter (5) lost her baby fat when she was 3 1/2 years old!
I doubt that you still have your baby fat at 13. Start eating more fruits & veggies. You’ve also gotta exercise alot too. That means taking time away from your computer! Sit-ups is a very good start. Also jumping on a trampoline might help. Just be careful what you eat!

i dont really know about taht one. i am 31 ia m 5’3 and weigh 125 i have 4 kids though. when i was a teenager i weighed 85. but more each day i am looking like my mother;s body shape. but puberty i shall say things do change and with body mass and all that stuff yea i think so. if your parents are overweight you have a higher risk being that way too. if they skinny then you have an easier route to stay thin.

I recently started working out, and have since been bombarded with tips from people who claim that these learned these tips from reputable sources. I’m pretty new at this whole working out thing, and I would like people who have some fitness knowledge to tell me if these are true ( and why) or if you’ve heard them before:
1. Working out first thing in the morning on an EMPTY stomach is best because it helps your body burn 3 times what it would after you’ve begun eating for the day.
2. Pec building exercises are great for women, because they help tighten and firm the muscle beneath the breast tissue.
3.Eat frozen yogurt after eating a burger, because something in the yogurt attaches to the fat molecules in your stomach and prevents the fat from being digested. (This one sounds REALLY far-fetched, but my friend swears she read it on AOL sometime ago.)
4. Drinking caffeine before a workout is good for your muscles. (if this is true, what does it do for the muscles?)
5. More reps with lighter weights are best if you are trying to LEAN your muscles, instead of trying to build big bulky muscles.
6. You shouldn’t workout EVERYDAY because your muscles need time to rest and reshape themselves.
7. (This is more of a health question, than fitness) I have heard the phrase “Pee often; Pee clear” a million times. But recently someone told me that urine should not be completely clear because that means that you’re flushing all of the NUTRIENTS out of your body; not the toxins. Is this true?
8. If you don’t feel the exercise in the area of your body that you’re supposed to be working out, you’re doing it wrong.

5. Drinking caffeine just makes your muscles shaky, but it would give you an energy boost.
6. They need time to rest, and you don’t want to pull anything.
7. You don’t want orange pee, you don’t want completely clear pee. Somewhere in between. If you take vitamin supplements though, it will go near an orange colour anyway.
