I have flat feet, so does this mean I need arch support, or will that make them worse?

Yes you do need support. My sister and my mom both have that problem and they just make sure that the shoes and sandals they wear have some sort of support. A lot of sandals come with support. My sister and mom loves those croc shoes but I think they look silly! lol….but if you get the good ones from Sport Authority my sister says they work great and she doesn’t have any pain in her feet!

i have been cursed with wide and somewhat flat feet…

I work at a daycare and I am constantly standing and walking all day long! by the end of the day my feet are usually KILLING ME! no matter what kind of shoe i try, it always ends up failing. Hopefully somebody can give you a good answer as to what kind of womens sandal to wear. My best advice is to get something with a lot of cushion..

At the end of the day when my feet are really hurting…I have found that there are certian peppermint lotions that are specifically for your feet and they DO make a difference. They also have like peppermint bath salts or “foot soaks” that you can put in hot water to soak your feet.

In the summer time I go in the pool after work and I prop my body up on a float or tube and just let my feet dangle in the water. My grandma also has foot problems and this is what she told me to do. …. to my surprize, not only is it relaxing but its very soothing to the feet…

Ecco makes very comfortable shoes/sandals for women, but they are expensive. You might also want to try Aerosoles. And what about good old Birkenstock?

Clark’s, Chaco’s, and Born are all comfy, cushy and supportive. I also like Birkenstocks and Tevas, but I’m not sure if you can be that casual at work. The top three tend to run a little wider and/or come in wider widths if you have that problem.

If your feet are absolutely killing you at the end of the day, and you don’t have a pool, run them under a very cold faucet. It feels amazing….takes away any swelling.
