Question: Any tips on switching from a low-grade dog food to a high-grade one?
Switching a 8 month old Springer Spaniel from OL ROY (I don’t know why the breeder had the pups and her dogs on it…UHG!) to Wellness Just for Puppy or NOW! Grain free puppy. I am concerned that it will be difficult on her little system, due to the dense nutritional value of the new food vs ol roy, but she needs off of the ol roy – the corn is making her itchy, esp. her ears and paws. Any tips to help her switch over?? ( already know to do it very slowly, gradually increasing) Is adding water to the kibble okay as well? thanks!!

Your dog will need less food if it’s high-quality and contains top-notch ingredients,That’s because foods with high-quality protein are more digestible–that is, your dog can use more of the nutrients they contain–than foods based on grains.

  1. The wellness should be just fine. Follow the feeding guidelines and mixing to switch is okay too.

No water is needed in the kibble.
