Q&A–: Can anyone give me some good weight loss advice?
I am a very busy 21-year-old woman. I work full time and go to school full time nights. I don’t have much time and am always eating on the run. (Which means it’s hard for me to lose weight.) I have gotten into the routine of walking half an hour in the morning every day which is good, but I’ve kind of hit a plateau and am stuck because I can’t find anytime to cook so I can eat right. Do you have any good advice or quick cook recipes (no fish) to solve this problem? Anyone else my age having trouble with their weight loss?

I’m 29, and have always had a hard time. I have found that the easiest and most effective thing is to eat small amounts, several times a day. I don’t even eat healthy all the time…I keep things like nuts, string cheese, summer sausage, etc…around, and just make myself eat something every couple of hours. I avoid fast food as much as possible, and when I do eat it, I order a kid’s meal to help with portion control. When I sit down to a regular meal, I always take 1/2 of what I think I want, wait about 20 min., and then judge if I NEED more or not. The other big key is water…AT LEAST 8 servings a day, and more is better. NO regular pop. The fact that you are already in the habit of walking is great as well. Keep doing that, but maybe use a timer and try to go a little farther each day within your 30 min. That will increase your pace without taking more time. I hope this helps. I know how frustrating it is to try and do work and school at the same time, and still struggle to find time for housework and taking care of yourself…which always seems to end up the lowest priority.

just eat right, that’s all. since you are very busy, you are probably doing all the exercise that you already need. eat lots of fruits and vegetables. you’ll be fine

when you think you are hungry, try drinking a glass of water, sometimes our brains fool us, thinking we are hungry when we are actually just thirsty.
And cardio, cardio, cardio…. increasing your heart rate causes you to metabolite longer, so jog instead of walk.
yup fast food will make you gain weight, try to make your healthy foods on your weekends, freeze it and warm it up in the micro-wave when you are on the run

Try Lean Cuisine’s or Smart One meals you just pop them in the microwave for 3 or 5 minutes and you have a meal that’s low in calories and fat. Also take your lunch, a turkey sandwich with mustard and a yogurt or light potato chips is a great lunch and you don’t have to spend a lot of time cooking. Continue excersing maybe you can add an extra 15 minute walk when you get home to kind of challenge your body a little bit. Or get an excercise DVD that you can do at anytime before bed or in the morning in your own home.

to loose weight properly you must not drink any fluids 1/2 hr befor you eat while your eating drink just a small amount of any liquids and dont drink any liquids after you have eaten for at least 1/2 hr. this will give your stomach acids CHANCE TO START DIGESTING THE FOOD YOU HAVE EATEN. THE FIRST DAY TOU WILL NOTICE A BETTER BOWEL MOVEMENT AND MORE URINATION . BY THE THIRD DAY YOU WILL LOOSE MAYBE A POUND OR TWO. YOUR WEIGHT LOSS WLLL BE ONLY A COUPLE OF LBS EVERY TWO TO THREE DAYS. BUT YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THE WEIGHT WILL STAY OFF AND YOU WILL GET TO THE WEIGHT YOUR BODY CAN CARRY NATURAL.

Q&A–: How can I get people to stop asking me for weight loss advice?
I would love to help my friends, but the thing is, I have no idea how to lose weight the healthy way. My friend know I restrict my diet to 300-400cals a day and exercise like crazy and they should know that its kinda hell-ish. Yet they still think I’m the person to go to for weight loss. How do I convince them otherwise? =/

Best practice is to give no advice for legal reasons. Just tell them, you don’t do anything special. Then change the subject. This was advice, I received from an attorney. After that, don’t worry about helping them. They can find lots of information if they wish to emulate you right on the internet, free. It is doubtful, they would follow your regime, even if you were to detail it. In the event, you ever become a fitness or nutritional counselor, you will want to be sure that there is no liability, and have your clients sign a hold harmless clause. You would also want a million dollar blanket policy and to have your assets protected by forming an LLC or corporation. That’s why it is best not to give all these friends direct advice. Refer them to some specialist or nutritionist, or even a company that provides guidance.
