Q&A–: how do i become more comfortable in pretty clothes?
i’m sick of wearing t shirts and sweatshirts all the time. especially because people think i’m a lesbian because i have short hair.
i want to try wearing something like a babydoll top or something a little more feminine. the only thing is i am uncomfortable in those clothes and i feel really silly and overdone. how do i become comfortable in girly clothes like the other girls?
and i’m NOT a lesbian!

I have the same exact problem with the clothes, I usually just throw on a sweatshirt and jeans and go to school.
For me, I just slowly got into nicer clothes, i’d wear a nice shirt and a sweatshirt over it, then if it got hot, i’d be wearing the nicer shirt and feel fine.
I know it’s kind of crazy, haha, but it worked for me.

Well, you dont want to change to dramatically very quickly. Ease your way into it, like start out by wearing some pretty flats, and a few days later wear a cute babydoll top, then add some jewelry, etc. The most important thing is not to change who you are, don’t try to be like everyone else, be unique. And yeah the clothes can be uncomfortable sometimes, but what I do is whenever im home, I just change into comfy clothes until I have to go back out again. And even if people think that, it doesn’t mean it’s true, so don’t be so hard on yourself. If you are worried they think that because of your hair, go to your hair stylist and ask what kind of options you have. There are lots of cute short hair styles! Good luck

Hey—im like you—i love my comfy shirts and sweats. they are what im comfortable in. i also have short hair!!!! short hair rocks btw!! well to solve this problem. i wear jeans….and i wear cute moccasins! they are comfy too! Shirts i wear plaid ones—they are in now. here some examples….oh also wear some jewerly!!

Try wearing them all the time when you are in the house. Get a long mirror (door mirror) for your room if you don’t have one and walk around in front of it. The more you do this, the more comfortable you will become. You just aren’t used to wearing them or seeing yourself in them so you feel like it’s forced…Sooner or later, you will feel comfortable.
Ease into the look also, don’t go full out girly girl in one day, that will be awkward. Little by little start to wear a cute top here and there and then gradually transition so that you are wearing the clothes all the time.
Oh and try earrings and a little jewelry so you don’t look like a lesbian. Even with short hair you can still look feminine without really looking like you are trying to.

ok i no exactly what you mean because all last school year i pretty much would just wear jeans and then a shirt with one of 3 hoodies i had so this year i decided to change that. I started off by getting a jacket that wasnt super baggy but also wasnt to tight and had a zipper so this way you can wear a cute shirt under the jacket and then zip it up a lot if you dont want people to see or you can maybe put it half way up so people can just see the upper part of the shirt or you can even wear it unzipped so you still have the long sleeves nut everyone can see your awesome shirt and this way you can zip up if you start to feel uncomfortable. i hope this helps you!!!

My daughter had the same problem. My advice to you is to put on something that shows off your strong points. Example being a low cut blouse if you have boobs or a nice fitting pair of pants if you have a favorable bottom half. And then go somewhere that has a crowd (like a mall, festival, etc…) The more compliments you get from men, the more comfortable you will become in the clothes. Don’t give up after one try. You must do this several times before you really get a feel for it. Once my daughter saw the heads turning, she slowly began to put up her jogging pants and t shirts. She got used to the flirty comments and now she dresses for the day… If she’s ballin’ she dresses that way. But if she’s hanging out with friends or just having fun, then she dresses in nice fitting pants and shirts. Her confidence level soared as well.

I’m a teenager but I wouldn’t wear skin tight things such as leggings as I thing they just look stupid. Most teenagers I see wearing stuff like that aren’t the thinnest of people and their belly always seems to be hanging over their tracksuit bottoms/jeans. It’s gross. But, yeah, I wear skinny jeans sometimes and fitted t-shirts.

yes off coarse.. we all feel more confortable to wear tight cloths……becouse there are not tight cloths then our UNDER WEARS.. but we feel confartable to wear tight cloths

Well, yes and no. Sometimes it is good and other times it is bad. It is good when are wearing a long t-shirt or dress and it makes you look good and it also makes you feel warm and easy to move around. But, other times it is so bad, I mean it doesn’t feel comfortable and it is itchy. Hope this answers your question

it depends on how ur body is toned….
if ur quite fit -n-fine then yes wear skin tight comfortable clothes otherwise nope….
i like wearing fitting clothes but when i come home i change into comfortable ones coz ur skin should feel relaxed…
