It varies considerably. I have worked for companies where blue jeans and a T-shirt are considered acceptable “business casual” and other companies where it is trousers, shoes and shirt with tie being optional (no jacket required). If in doubt, I would ask for clarification.

Usually black or tan pants, or women can wear a skirt if they’d prefer, and a button-down collared shirt (with a tie, for men). A suit jacket/blazer would also be accepted but isn’t quite required. Basically, it’s what a business professional would wear to the office.

If you’re a guy: plain long sleeve shirt with a collar, a tie, dress pants, and dress shoes.
If you’re a girl: plain long sleeve shirt with a collar and dress pants or pencil skirt/dress skirt and black pumps.
Also, sometimes you need to wear a suit. Of course this all depends on what company you work for. Some are more lenient and some may require you to wear something different.

I’m starting a new position with the same organization but in a different location and in my old office they were always pretty lenient about what we should wear, but in my new office I will always be required to wear business casual clothes and sometimes a suit. A suit’s easy if not particularly sexy, but I don’t have much of an idea what business casual is or what a nice looking business casual outfit would be like.
I’m 5’8, 24 years old, green eyes and blondish hair and have an athletic build if that helps. I want to look good for my new coworkers. Any tips on how to dress would be appreciated.

Business casual is just basically khaki pants, and a nice polo shirt. If you feel that’s too laid back, a nice dress shirt will do. Business casual is just an outfit minus the tie and jacket.

Not jeans!
Smart trousers, and a nice shirt should do it.
Why not wear your suit the first day and see how everyone else is dressed. You can always take your jacket and tie off to become “smart casual”
