The shoe fits comfortably when I’m barefooted. But with hosiery, the back of the heel slips off imediately when I try to walk in them. Are there any inserts or something like that that I can use so that I can wear my heels with hosiery? Or do i need to buy a 1/2 size down for the shoes that I want to wear with hosiery? Please help! Thanks.

there are many inserts that you could buy if you want to spend money
but i use the old trick of putting tissues in the toe
or putting a band aid on the back of the heel i find that works also

I’ve been trying to look online for what I am thinking of but my best friend has the same problem and bought from Payless or some cheapie store a sticky you put in the back of the heel that is to prevent cuts from wearing heels, etc. but it actually has some cushion so it makes the shoe fit a little tighter and has a bandaid type feeling so it sticks to the shoe better than soft hosiery.
Sorry for bad details but hopefully you know what I mean – good luck!
PS- if you can’t find what I am trying to describe, try sticking regular bandaids on the back of the heel bit.

the best answer is to buy shoes that you will wear with hose and shoes you won’t… anything else is going to be a work around.. there is no real solution to shoes that are the wrong size.. and when you take your socks off that is what you have shoes that are the wrong size.

I’ve never tried this so I’m not sure it will work but I remember reading an article years ago by Helowise in Good Housekeeping. She suggested spraying the inside of the shoe with hairspray before wearing with hosiery. I would assume the stickyness of the hairspray would keep your foot more in place.

I found sticky heel pads at Rite-Aid, and they work great and my feet don’t slip in my shoes anymore. You just peel them off and stick them in your shoes at the heels — super easy. I think you could probably find them at any drug store or large grocery store in the foot care section. They’d be by the insoles and other shoe products.
