Well, obviously you want to eat right and excercise. If you have a regular workout plan already, then I would add one serving of carbs or more to your diet depending on how much you train. Also, this isn’t really nutrition, but I would reccomend regular leg stretching to help with your high kicks. You might also want to take a yoga class or two at your local gym to help with balance and flexibility.

Make sure you get enough Vitamin C and Calcium. These two nutrients help your body recover after a workout.

Oh, and one thing that always helps me out – eat a bananna about 30 minutes before class. Studies show it has the ability to sustain your body for a 90 minute workout.

Otheriwse, there are no “special” nutritional requirements for a martial artist. Just eat properly. There are plenty of books on the subject.

The same as a black belt. Eat plenty of good carbs and protein (brown bread, veg, fruit, rice, oatmeal, lean meat, chicken, tuna, turkey). Try to limit the fried food and processed junk. Pig out every so often, just be aware of it. Try to drink at least 12 glasses of water a day. 8 glasses is said to be the normal amount for a normal person. But with the martial arts training you’re doing you need more.

Pay attention to the food pyramid. Stay away from carbonated soft drinks they weaken bones. Don’t eat a big meal before training or class. Avoid unhealthy snacks highly processed foods or fad diets. Leafy greens help build strong bones and red blood cells. Eat from the rainbow; that is eat green yellow and red vegetables and berries of different colors. The antioxidants keep you healthy and help heal minor sport injuries quicker. Hydrate an hour before training so you don’t have to interrupt training to get a drink.
Learn to listen to your body. Don’t confuse hunger with thirst. Always drink a little water about a half hour before you eat. This will help.

Good Nutrition advice: make sure you get some sort of protein before or after training in order to help your muscles grow and for your body to heal correctly (such as muscles and etc.)
