i did not take very good care of my brown leather shoes and they are faded very light in some spots. are there any products i can use to cover the light spots?

Yes, shoe polish. Get polish in a color similar to your shoes color and they will look much better.

you can buy leather dye…it will actually dye the leather back to brown like you got them. leather dye soaks “into” the leather…shoe polish is good to keep the leather protected and adds a glaze like apearance as it adds color “onto” the leather. polish is messy, apply it with a shoe brush or a small amount on a rag rubbed in little circles on your shoe till the area is covered then let dry and buff the shoe off with an old cotton t-shirt or shoe brush.

Correctly-colored shoe cream from Meltonian would be my first try. It soaks in easier than wax, and isn’t strictly an on-the-surface thing. The colors of shoe creams (various shades of brown) are far more varied than the limited shades of wax polishes.
My second option would be wax polish. While mostly a surface finish, it does, with time, stain leather (in sort of an unpredictable pattern, I’d add).
And then my third choice would be the shoe stripper and dye that the other answerer listed. NuLife makes that, I believe (or Tarrago). I’d use caution if the shoes are aniline leather, or high-priced. I’ve never used NuLife or Tarrago, but it’s the complete surface overhaul, basically. You won’t get an “antiqued” look to your new surface, for sure. You’d almost surely want to follow it up with shoe cream and wax, to try to make it look a little less generic-looking, afterward.

The best solution, taking into account economic specialization and the opportunity cost of your time, might be to take them to a shoe-repair shop. The fellow there will likely fix ‘em up in no time flat, for a small fee.

I never buy completely white shoes but sometimes they look worse when they are totally thrashed when they are white then they do when they are other colors.

I can not stand to get them dirty… i got a pare of all white hi tops in september 2007 and wear them at least twice a week indoors and out and people still think they are new. its not weird to get them dirty, it bugs some people that i am obsessive about keeping my shoes clean.

I think it depends on the style. I don’t normally like them but I found a pair of all-white converse-style pair of sneakers at Guess that I bought. I’m trying to keep them clean because I like them that way.

I don’t like white, white shoes either. I think they make my feet look the size of battleships. Plus, they are like neon signs drawing everyone’s attention to your feet.

Yes. In fact I hate them with a white hot passion. I burn them on site. Did you know Hitler wore all white shoes? They must be bad then. It’s weird how Democrats call Bush a Nazi, when they themselves are commies. In fact they’re closer to communism, while because Naziism is such an extreme, Republicans don’t even come very close to it. Not to mention the fact that it’s pretty much impossible to be achieved because of the constitution, and the moral code of any person would forbid it. But communism is very much achievable. EXACTLY! I want them slightly dirty but not too dirty because i hate that too. I think i dont like everyone asking if they’re new shoes, plus its just like a flourescent blob at the bottom of my pants and they look wierd.

I dont make them dirty on purpose, but i dont like the look of brand new, gleaming white shoes either, i just wait til they get dirty to wear em out
