I’m working on the finishing touches for my Halloween costume.
And i’m going to be a pirate
The thing is, some of the parts of my costume are newer.
I’m just looking for any suggestions to make the clothing items look older.

Stain them with a bleach solution, and throw them in the drier. You can, if you’re carefull make all kinds of rips and patterns. Rubbing the elbows and knees over rough bricks gives a worn appearance.
There’s not enough time before Halloween to bury them in the dirt of a cementary/

bunch up the shirt in a messy ball and put rubber bands on it in 3 or more places horizontally then go and buy some kid of faded looking clothing dye and squirt it in a tub with water and mix the two, then dunk it lightly in different spots but not allover and don’t dunk too much.
make sure you buy washable dye =)

Cut and tear them and then wash them a few times. Dragging them behind a car also works wonders.

I always like to get a new set of clothes when the season changes, but the urge is even stronger in the spring. Shedding the old heavy winter clothes for something new and light and floaty. Its reinvention.
Today was really quite cold and went from sunny to wet far too quickly. But the promise of spring was in the windows of the clothing shops downtown, the promise that soon the sun would be warm and the weather perfect for something light and fresh.
Downtown Guelph has a number of lovely stores selling interesting apparell. And even if 95% of it would never fit me, I love to wander and linger and look at the beautiful clothes in the windows.
This lovely green dress was displayed in the window of Coriander on Wyndham St, and the window reflects the downtown streetscape.
