Q&A–: Is a Linen Suit considered appropriate work dress?
For men, are linen suits considered appropriate professional dress for work? I’m in Washington DC for the summer and heat/humidity has been killing me…trying to go for some cooler fabric…by the way, i’ve been looking at a white linen suit

Yes. Namely in the summer as you pointed out. The “traditional” seer sucker suit is a Brooks Brothers white and blue. I worked in NYC financial/agency for 10 years – and it just fine. In fact, I am wearing a new Calvin Kline tan and white seer sucker to an agency meeting in NYC Monday…
Linen, lighter fabrics, colors are fine.

Definitely a simple loafer or oxford style. With linen, your shoe needs to be a natural leather, low on the gloss. Preferably no laces (or slim laces), and little to no detail or ornamentation.
