dressy casual–Casual Friday Dos & Don’ts
If you are lucky, in an informal setting where you women’s casual clothing every day wear to work, you’re happy! You probably have no idea how liberating the people feel when they are normally expected to work to wear dressy clothes, but dress casually on Fridays.
Casual Friday is fun and liberating. One feels as though the weekend has started a day early. However, it is important to remember that casual Friday is NOT the weekend. You are not hanging out with your friends and family – you’re still at work, and you must dress accordingly. Here are some simple dos and don’ts to take the secret of casual Fridays are:
DO wear jeans as long as they are classic – dark wash, moderate increase, and a straight leg or bootcut. Funky, torn, burned or very extreme low-rise jeans are NOT a great, if it comes to the office – even on casual Friday
DO NOT ever wear flip-flops to the office .. These are much too casual. In many formal work environments, you should probably avoid, open-toed shoes, the front and on casual days. Instead, opt for ballet flats or a pair of classic pumps to dispense with the trendy shoes with fun, / Contribute> DO clean clothes. This may sound obvious, but some people believe that Casual Friday means that they are exactly what they are on weekends, which are slightly stained or frayed clothing wear wear. But in the office, this could seriously go back and make you look unprofessional.
Do not wear clothes that are too revealing. Even on casual days, showing cleavage, dressed in a very short skirt or disclosure of your waist are major faux pas in the office. And do not even get me started on those low rise jeans with one that they expose your underwear when you sit down!
DO balance your look. If you want something very casual, like a pair of jeans to wear on the bottom, wear something a bit more tailored to the top – like a white shirt or a blazer.
Do not go too casual. The wearing of women’s casual clothing is fun – and much more comfortable than in a suit – but sweatpants and a faded T-shirt at the weekend clothes, not office attire. (In fact, some would say jogging pants for working out and for wearing around the house should be reserved only – they are just too frumpy and unflattering).
DO wear nice clothes if you want, but stay away from party clothes. A sparkly halter top, tight pants and stilettos? Great for clubbing, not so great for the office.
DO check with HR and see if they call you with a copy of the company dress code, which can also be a chapter on Casual Fridays are available.
